NI’s Chief Professional Officers recognise health and social care workforce

Date published: 08 August 2024

First and foremost, we want to reassure all staff across the health and social care professions that they have our unwavering support.

We unreservedly condemn the events that have unfolded here in Northern Ireland and across the UK in recent days. There is no place for violence, racism or intimidation within our communities and we stand with all of those who have been targeted, threatened or made to feel frightened and unsafe.

We know that many of our colleagues and their families are feeling anxious, worried and vulnerable at this time. It is entirely unacceptable that anyone should be made to feel this way, not least those who dedicate their lives to helping everyone in society. It is testament to the strength, commitment and vocation of our colleagues that despite these events, they continue to help and support all those who need them.

We want to recognise your ongoing contribution and dedication and thank you for all that you do every day, often in very challenging circumstances. Northern Ireland is a better place for your skills, experience and knowledge.
