Standards for Young Adults Supported Accommodation Projects in Northern Ireland
The document sets out the Minimum Standards for Young Adults Supported Accommodation Projects that provide housing support, care and accommodation.
These projects offer an alternative to mainstream care placements as described under Article 27(2) of The Children (Northern Ireland) Order 1995 to children aged 16 and 17 as well as to vulnerable adults aged 18 – 21 plus, where it is assessed that their needs can best be met in a living environment that affords age and developmentally appropriate experiences of preparation for adult life. Such projects by their nature also recognise the need for an appropriate level of supervision and continuing care.
