Consultation description
The Department of Health has undertaken a review of its current continuing healthcare policy in Northern Ireland which found there to be confusion about continuing healthcare and its applicability and the risk of variance in continuing healthcare practice across Northern Ireland.
In view of these findings, the Department is recommending that further clarity and revision to the continuing healthcare policy is now required.
In consulting on the proposals which have emerged from the review, the Department is seeking to achieve a position of regional consistency and to ensure that any existing inequality issues experienced by individuals are addressed.
The Department would welcome your opinion on the proposals outlined in the consultation document.
As of 11 February 2021, the Department has published an Analysis of Responses to the consultation which can be accessed above.
